Year 8's funday
Finally a day were our teachers let us do a fun day out with the senior side of the school. This day was all about seeing how the year 8’s could manage a sports day for the senior students. On the fun day that the year 8’s prepared their was approximately 12 games that were going to be played. I had set up a game called rob the nest, to play this game I had 3 hoops and located a child to each set of hoop then I placed eight balls inside each hoop. Then the rules were simple for the kids to understand which were you can run to any hoop and take one ball then run back to your hoop and place it inside then carry on. Although I set up rob the nest I still found other games that the year 8’s made up interesting such as capture the flag which had water balloons which most groups wanted to play. At the end of the year 8’s fun day out we all assembled on the asphalt and the year 7’s and 8’s were given lollies and pears for preparing the fun sports day.

Chalk enlargement
This morning my class and I had went outside to do a maths activity. It was all about enlarging a photo that we liked. The photo that we liked we choose and inserted it into google drawings, after that I Placed a grid on the photo. My grid is 6 by 6 which means it has 36 squares in total. I choose for every 1 centimeter to 30 centimeters. I found doing this activity easier to do than I thought. Next I want to learn more about enlarging because I found it really fun to do.

Enlargement
Yesterday we were learning about enlargement. Our task today for maths was to enlarge a picture of an ant, hat, dinosaur, or lion. As you can see I tried to enlarge a picture of an ant it sorta came as I pictured it but I drew the last part of the ant to big. The little picture of the ant is 9 centimeters and the large picture of the ant is 18 centimeters so the scale factor is 2. I had to count each square on each picture as I started to draw the larger ant so the measurements could be as precise as possibly. I found this drawing activity a bit difficult because the legs and the circle at the end was hard to get in the exact spots. After doing this activity I would like to learn more about co - ordinates.

Tessellation
Today in class we learnt about tessellation. A tessellation is a repeated pattern that has no gaps and doesn't overlap. To find a tessellation you have to choose a vertex which means a point where lines meet. Also you need to find a polygon which is a shape with straight sides such as rectangles, octagons and more. Our tessellation for our repeated pattern was 3.4.3.

Perimeter shape shooter
Today I played this game called perimeter shape shooter. I found this game easy to play because I already know how to calculate perimeter. Playing this game helped me revise my perimeter and it also made me remember how to calculate perimeter. I really liked this game because it had 4 levels and it got harder each level and made me think abit. Next I would like to learn more about temperature in maths.
