Factors

Screenshot 2016-03-02 at 9.56.49 AM.png

Earlier this week we were learning how to do factors. I played this game called space rocks which was about factors. This game was easy for me because I know how to do factors better than I know prime numbers. As you can see it took me a minute and fifty five seconds to finish and my accuracy was 100%. Next time I play a factors game I hope that the questions are more harder than this.

Corn maths

On Monday we were learning to estimate the different parts of a cob of sweetcorn My team was Huntah and Liam. First, we estimated and then we counted. We got the estimation right for the husk because we estimated 8 husk and their were 8 husk. I found this maths activity difficult because when we were counting the silk it took too long and we were getting tired of counting. The skills you would need to know to do this activity is your tidy number and your rounding off groups. Next I want to learn how to convert fractions into percentages.

The growing of maize in New Zealand

According to Yen, the first year maize was introduced to New Zealand was in 1769 when captain Cook arrived. So then we can infer that the early european explorers were the people that had brought maize to New Zealand and that it was grown in 1772.

New Zealand has the right climate for growing maize because when it is September it stays hot until February which are the warmer months. maize also requires tropical climate and the soil temperature has to be between 16.c to 35..

Maize was shared by boiling it, Roasting it and trading for different varieties of vegetables or fruits. The trading's worked by giving maize and in return the other person gives carrots. That is how they would share their vegetables and fruits with each other.

The uses of maize can be used as breakfast cereals to eat and Popcorn. Also you can make starch products such as corn starch and other stuff. The last thing it is used for is to make baked goods.

Kent Jones vs Crocodile

Kent Jones a tall man with brown curly hair his tan skin would shine every time he’d walk into the sun, he had one tattoo on his right arm and a small tattoo on his chest. Kent Jones was a guy that liked to explore the outdoors. It was the break of dawn when Kent Jones had felt the slow breeze flowing across his body as he was on his way to the amazon.

“Bang, Bang, Bang,!!” an crocodile jumps out of the water, Kent Jones seen it’s sharp machete teeth and rough rocky hide that was dark green. Kent Jones then fought against the crocodile. The crocodile tossed Kent Jones around in the boat but Kent Jones picked up the crocodile and looked as strong as hulk. Kent Jones hits were as fast as flash and that had scared away the crocodile.

“Crash, Clash, Bash” Kent Jones threw the crocodile away. Kent Jones then drove his boat to the crocodile and apologised to it. The crocodile told Kent Jones that he was just hungry and was trying to eat his sandwiches in his bag. Kent Jones then gave the crocodile a few sandwiches and they had became friends.

Add, Subtract, Multiply, and Divide

Screenshot 2016-02-23 at 9.43.36 AM.png

I played this game earlier this week. This was an online maths game that taught me how to subtract, Divide, Addition and Multiply. It was a bit difficult for me because it had multiplication numbers that took me a while to answer. The easiest things to do was the subtractions and additions for me because I was prepared for the questions that they had given me.
